The PCT... Again?

The PCT (Pacific Crest Trail) has grabbed a hold of my heart and mind in ways nothing else ever has. This trail has beaten me twice now, I'm ready to give it one more chance. My husband, Legasorus, has graciously decided to comeback out of retirement if needed, to give me this last chance to meet this challenge on my own terms and my own schedule. I can't tell him enough how thankful I am for this opportunity and sacrifice on his part to allow me the time and freedom to conquer this trail if I can.

For all of my followers and friends, words of encouragement are so cherished and vital to a successful thru hike, please don't hold back. I will try to respond in a timely manner, but if there happens to be a time when I seem slow to respond, remember that this undertaking is tough, and I may be conserving my strength and mind for the everyday struggle of putting one foot in front of the other. I will be carrying all of your blessings in my heart though, and am thinking of you all fondly.

Last of all, I want to give a huge thank you to my parents, who have gotten to the point of resignation that I must do this trek. They have gone from "It's too dangerous", to "Well, if you must go." They have listened and learned about the trail over the years, and have decided that if they can't keep me from going, they at least can rest a little easier knowing the vast amount of people that start each year, and that I won't be alone.

  2. Thank you Carie, I was pleasantly surprised to see your comment. I spent time last night reading your blog and you might notice I have your blog connected to mine now. We are very close to the same age, and I wish you all the best hiking Oregon this summer. It would be great fun to meet up on the trail in August. Keep hiking, I plan to, even through all the creaks of the knees and stiffness in the joints.

  3. I just found your blog from the PCTA's list of journals, and just wanted to leave some encouragement. Congrats on getting back to the trail for another attempt! It's so exciting to finally be in 2014, with very little time left before we start. I'm also going to be thru-hiking this year, and this will be my second attempt at the PCT. Only a few more months to go! Hope to see you out on the trail.
